Stephen didn’t always like books, but once he discovered the worlds of Earthsea, Mossflower Woods, and Middle-Earth, he was hooked.
Now Stephen reads and writes for fun. His dream job is to play violin in a professional orchestra, teach college-level writing, and wander around in the forest. Since this position isn’t currently open, Stephen has a day job in marketing. He studied English at Southern Virginia and North Carolina State Universities.
Stephen’s favorite writers include: Ursula K. Le Guin, Patricia McKillip, Sean Russell, Brian Jacques, Nnedi Okorafor, Robin Hobb, Ted Chiang, Susan Cooper, Brent Weeks, Lloyd Alexander, Cixin Liu, Brandon Sanderson, J. V. Jones, and Hayao Miyazaki.
Outside of writing, his interests include video game music, cooking, maps, parkour, travel, and anything related to wizards.
